Rock and Worship Roadshow

Had an amazing time at the vbc at the Rock and Worship Roadshow! I just wanted to ya'll know how it went down.

So I met up with Jessica Ryan and Judy at 455pm. Our goal was to get to the vbc as early as possible. We arrived at about 515. A crowd was already there!
Ryan left his wallet in the car. So him and I ran back to get it. There was a ton more people behind us!
Got to our seats about 615. They were decent. Ryan had to buy a shirt for his buddy. I tagged along. I had told Josh to come tonight just earlier that day. So I was glad he made it!
Of course I always want Sarah to go but she stayed with the girls. She's awesome!!! And she owes me for all those girls nights out. :) seriously

A 19 year old sing named Moriah started off the preshow at 630. She sang one song on a ukulele. Yeah it was ok. She sang well.
Then a band from Ireland played and they really good! Rend Collective Experiment. Powerful lyrics throughout their set. They also requested we dance Irish jigs. I declined. Politely of course. Ryan did a move or two.
Sidewalk prophets was good. Short set but good. Reminded me of Mercy Me.
Disciple rocked hard. Lead singer Kevin Young screamed "shake your hair if you have it"!!!! Nice heavy guitar and amazing vocals. A bit of a hiccup in the pop lineup for the most part.
Hawk Nelson was good as always. Playing Friend Like That, bring em out, and Crazy Love. Was hoping for California but we all can dream right?
Lecrae was who I was looking forward to the most. He didn't disappoint. It was fun rapping his music live with 15,000 other people. Energetic yet preaching Jesus. Loved it. Songs like don't waste your life, background, and hallelujah rocked the house!!! I was sweaty after he left the stage!!
For me tenth ave north was the biggest surprise. I hadnt really listened to them. Heard a couple songs on the radio. But after hearing them live, I was really impressed. I felt Gods presence when they played. A must have for my already extensive cd collection. Or possibly iTunes. Hmmm...
Last was mercy me. I've seen then multiple times now and they never disappoint. I Can Only Imagine live is always good. Im sure you can imagine. :) Bart Millard joking about his belly was funny. Better was the guy behind yelling "I hear Ya!!" yeah. That really happened.
Bart has a great testimony with his dad passing. He relates to a lot of people. Didn't know he had 5 kids. Very cool!
Mercy me left the stage at 1115 pm. I was actually a bit tired but felt great. I was ready for another show. This one was overdue. Btw the Hurt And the Healer song by Mercy Me sounded great. Looking forward to the new cd!

The best part was to hear Jesus name glorified and praised. He's amazing and worth every song written for or about Him.

It was good to hang with friends and family. Also got to see my old friend Angie whom I hadn't seen in a while. Never know who you might see with 15,000 people about!

It's also good to see people who you know who didn't use to serve God now serving Him. It's very humbling. And it makes it all worth while. One good change can make you forget 100 bad changes.
Good to see my buddy Josh and glad he is doing well. Hadn't seen him in a few years.

And to Judy, Ryan's mom, sorry if I scared you.

To anyone who saw me dance, yes I'm good. That's to kids next to me.

Jessica, who wanted to leave before the last song, I salute you for staying. You trooper womb mate you!

So, from leaving my house at 445 to getting home at 1145 it was a great night. Reminded me of being 18. Not 29. And no, I will never say I'm too old. Will never be guilty of that!! till the next show.............

It's what I do,
Josiah
